The Coop Crew

In 2006 we decided that Sam needed some friends.
So we bought 2 dozen eggs from Fairview Hatchery.
(Which is no longer on the web) for $54.58.

The eggs arrived on a Saturday. Well the post office is only open
until 12pm and the delivery guy put a note in my mailbox at 11:45am.
So, due to the holiday, the eggs sat in the post office until Tuesday.

Needless to say, we tried, but none of them hatched.

May of 2007 we decided to try again, but this time
we ordered day old chicks from Meyer Hatchery.

Item# Description Qty
DOGBSR 04-23-07 Golden Buff (Straight Run) - 04-23-07 13
DOOE 04-23-07 Assorted Old English Bantams (Straight Run) - 04-23-07 13

Of those 8 out of 13 Old English Bantams pasted away within 48 hours.
Also we learned that just because you order Old English Bantams,
doesn't guarantee that that's what your going to get.

We have

4 Black Rosecombs (2 Roosters 2 Hens) (The males are called Crow and Buzzard)
1 Splash Rosecomb (Rooster) (Her name is Sundance)
1 Crele Old English Bantam (He is very much a rooster and is name is Cherokee)

All of the Golden Buffs lived.
Oh, if your looking for bird with personality, don't buy these.
They are dumb as rocks.

Here's some pics of them
